Teen Talent and General Convention:
Our hats are off to the youth of Arkansas District as they participated
in National Teen Talent Expo. They were the best and they brought home many
prestigious awards to prove it. Please see the Youth Ministries Report for
details. (You can see this on the district web site as well)
The
General Office will be sending out a complete convention report soon, however,
in brief, Bro. and Sis. Scott were returned to office
of General Bishop and Women’s Ministry and Bro. Ming as General Secretary. As
you review the convention report you will be receiving in a few days, please
try to approach it like you want your parishioners to approach decisions made
by the local church. Different opinions lead folks to come to different
conclusions. However, we endeavor to work together even though we may see
things differently.

Trinity
PCG, Higginson

Reverend Murlie and Don Branscum
Trinity Pentecostal Church of God was established
on Nov. 16, 2003 by Reverend Clarence Smith. It was located in a little
store front on
On June 27, 2005 the congregation purchased a
church building in Higginson and moved to its present
location,
When Bro. Smith resigned in June 2006, Reverends
Paul and Shirley Rascoe were selected as pastors. Reverend and Mrs. Frank Stephens followed them
and served until July of 2007.
Upon Bro. Stephens resignation, the current
pastors, Brother Don and Reverend
Murlie
Branscum were appointed.
In April of 2009, the congregation purchased the
land behind the church with plans to build a new sanctuary in the near future
and remodel the existing sanctuary for use as a fellowship hall.
In the past 2 years several have been saved,
filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in water.
Pastor Branscum said, “The
new sanctuary plans call for a baptistery. No more baptizing in the river in
November! God has performed many miracles in our services. The most
recent: a lady who has suffered with arthritis in her feet and legs for
twenty-eight years came forward for prayer. She left the service walking
without a limp and without pain! We give God the glory and praise for His
goodness and mercy to us!”
Sister Branscum was
diagnosed with an artery disease and heart problems in 2005. Because of this
she resigned her pastorate at McRae in March of 2006 and moved to
There was no clap of thunder, no bolt of
lightning, just strength. The awful chest pain that I had endured
constantly since 2005 was gone! Praise the Lord!
The rest is history. Here we are once again,
in the service of the Lord and so thankful for every moment.
I still have other health issues and don't feel
well a lot of the time, but nothing like before. When I get extremely
tired or upset the chest pain tries to come back and I have to remind myself
and the devil that the Lord healed me. The Dr. doesn't have much to say as I
still have the 5 stints and high cholesterol. He says, ‘Just watch your diet
and do what you feel like doing.’ Isn't God great!”
